Ever wondered if those iconic classic cars can still hold their own against their modern counterparts? We decided to put the venerable classics head-to-head with their high tech descendants in a drag race with a twist.

To make it more interesting the old cars get a head start based on their age. But can the more powerful new cars still beat them? Place your bets then watch our videos to find out.

We’ve brought together the latest versions of the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Mazda MX-5 to face off against their respective originals on our runway. We've also matched the Vauxhall Astra GTE and the new Astra VXR as well as putting the the Ford Fiesta XR2 up against the modern day Fiesta ST. It's a mouthwatering prospect and we're sure you'll be surprised by the results.
