New Skoda Octavia prices
Skoda has confirmed prices and specifications for the new Octavia, ahead of its on-sale date in March
The new Skoda Octavia will cost from £15,990 for petrol-engined models and £18,040 for diesel-powered cars, when it goes on sale in the UK on 16 March. Three trim levels will be available: S, SE and Elegance.
The new Octavia will be available in the UK with four engine options. Buyers will be able to opt for the 104bhp 1.2-litre TSI petrol, which returns a claimed 57.7mpg and has CO2 emissions of 114 g/km. This is helped in part by the fact that the new Octavia is 102kg lighter than its predecessor, and that all new Octavias feature stop-start as standard.
A 138bhp 1.4-litre TSI petrol, which returns 53.3mpg and has CO2 emissions of 121g/km is also available.
The two diesel options are the 104bhp 1.6 TDI, which manages a claimed average of 74.3mpg and 99g/km CO2 emissions, and a 148bhp 2.0-litre TDI that returns 68.2mpg and emits 106g/km of CO2.
A 1.6-litre TDI Octavia Greenline model, which has CO2 emissions of 89g/km and returns a claimed average of 83mpg arrives towards the end of 2013. The high-performance Octavia vRS arrives in the UK in the summer.
The Octavia range starts with the S trim level, which includes 16-inch alloys, Bluetooth, DAB radio, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and hill hold assist as standard. Skoda claims that the entry-level Octavia S features an extra £3,500 of equipment over the equivalent previous-generation model.
Mid-range Octavia SE adds height adjustment for the driver’s seat, electronic stability control, front fog lights, automatic air conditioning and body coloured door mirrors and handles.
Skoda claims that the equipment on the SE represents £3,890 of extra value over its predecessor, and that the new SE model features equipment worth £2,220, yet costs only £1,200 more than the new Octavia S.
The top-of-the-range Skoda Octavia Elegance gets 17-inch alloys, alcantara and leather trim, sat-nav and cruise control. It costs £1,850 more than the equivalent new SE model, but Skoda claims the extra features over the SE are worth £3,575. What’s more, Skoda reckons that the new Octavia Elegance has £5,300 worth of extra features over the outgoing range-topper.
Featuring the new Skoda design language, the Octavia is larger than its predecessor, with dimensions that are 90mm longer, 45mm wider and with a 108mm longer wheelbase than the second-generation Octavia it replaces. The boot is also a substantial 590 litres, making it bigger than the current Ford Mondeo.
