Renault Kadjar updated with new trim levels and kit

The Renault Kadjar receives two new variants offering more equipment, ahead of the model’s replacement due to be shown next year

Renault has given its Kadjar a boost, restructuring the range with a pair of new trim levels to help keep the SUV up to date ahead of its replacement being shown in spring next year.

Available to order now, the Kadjar Equilibre is priced from £25,595, while the Kadjar Techno (from £27,195) is the only other choice available. Equilibre marks the new entry point to the range, offered with the TCe 140 turbo petrol engine - the only engine option now - in manual and dual-clutch automatic forms.

Equilibre trim includes a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as cruise control, lane departure warning, parking sensors front and rear with a reversing camera, keyless go and auto headlights and wipers. Exterior upgrades include new gloss black door mirrors, 17-inch diamond-cut alloys and privacy glass.

The Kadjar Techno, which becomes the flagship trim level, adds kit such as full LED headlights with auto high beam, blind-spot warning and Renault’s Active Emergency Braking system. Cloth and synthetic leather trim, 19-inch diamond-cut alloys and roof bars.

Renault will introduce these trim levels across other models in its range, although it’s not clear if it plans to simplify the line-up of those cars in a similar fashion to how it has with the Kadjar.

The Kadjar is coming to the end of its life, with its replacement due to be revealed in spring next year. Called the Austral, it will retain a combustion-engine line-up, while hybrid and plug-in hybrid options could feature. The Austral will also be based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s new CMF-C platform and feature updated technology.
