New Citroen e-Series spec added to e-C4, e-C4 X and C5 Aircross ranges

Citroen’s new e-Series trim level features exterior tweaks and uprated equipment levels

Citroen has bolstered its range of C4 and C5 Aircross models by adding a new ‘e-Series’ variant, focusing on improving technology and giving the French firm’s C-segment cars a more premium touch.

The e-Series sits at the top of the trim level tree for both the e-C4 and e-C4 X, where it’s based on the mid-range Shine for the C5 Aircross. It’s also only available on electrified models - in the case of the C5 Aircross that means the 225 Plug-in Hybrid and the recently unveiled Hybrid 136.

The e-Series versions can be spotted by a host of exterior tweaks consisting of a Perla Nera black roof and tinted rear windows. There are also new 18-inch alloy wheels finished in black for the e-C4 and e-C4 X, with the C5 Aircross receiving 19-inch black alloys. Various different body colours are available but Citroen says the Pearl White finish is the ‘signature look of the e-Series’.

Citroen's Dark Chrome exterior pack is fitted as standard with bespoke chrome inserts on the front bumper and ‘Airbump’ panels along the side. New ‘e-Series’ badging also features throughout the exterior of each of the three cars.

Citroen says the “E-Series editions banish negative thoughts to help you relax in a cocoon of comfort”. To achieve this, there’s a light-coloured interior with light grey upholstery and materials. There’s also ‘bubble panels’ and a herringbone pattern on the Alcantara seats plus new ‘ë’ labels. Citroen claims the seat fabric is made from 68 per cent recycled fibres, too.

The new e-Series versions are available to order now ahead of first deliveries expected by July. Both the e-C4 and e-C4 X start from £36,295 with the Aircross PHEV coming in at £38,375.
